The South African Medical Research Council’s Division of Research Capacity Development (RCD) invites Principal investigator (PI) beneficiaries of the Research Capacity Development Initiative (RCDI) funding to submit their expression of their interest to host Postdoctoral Research Fellows and PhD students under the RCDI-Nested Postdoctoral and Scholarship Programmes.
The European Partnership for Personalised Medicine, EP PerMed, supported by the European Union under Horizon Europe, Grant Agreement N° 101137129, has launched its second joint transnational call (JTC2025) for proposals on “Pharmacogenomic strategies for personalised medicine approaches (PGxPM2025)”. In total, 35 funding organisations participate in this call with an available budget of over 36.5 Mio. € (approx.).

The South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) in collaboration with the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA) is pleased to announce the release of its 5th SAMRC-TIA Seed Fund call, for the 2024/25 FY (SAMRC-TSF) with a focus on health-related technologies, including therapeutics, mHealth, biosimilars, and indigenous knowledge systems (IKS) (i.e. African Traditional Medicines, cosmeceuticals, nutraceuticals, and health infusions), with the exception of medical devices and diagnostics.

The South African Medical Research Council's Division of Research Capacity Development (RCD) invites applications from Postdoctoral Fellows who have obtained their Doctoral degrees not more than five (5) years before the date of application and who are immediately available to start working within one of the SAMRC Extramural Research Units (EMU) based at South African research institutions with priority given to new units in their first 5 years, and the units based at Historically disadvantaged institutions

The SAMRC is pleased to announce the release of a new funding opportunity by the US National Institutes of Health Research (NIH) under the U.S.-South Africa Program for Collaborative Biomedical Research – Phase 3 (HIV/AIDS). This is a jointly funded program between the SAMRC and the NIH and follows on from the successful Phase 1 and Phase 2 collaborative programs.
