One of the SAMRC’s Unit Directors, Prof Wiysonge will be leaving the SAMRC to join the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Africa as the Regional Adviser for Immunisation and Team Lead for the Vaccine-Preventable Diseases Programme.
- The Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings has announced that 9 young scientists from South Africa are to participate in the 72nd Lindau Nobel Laureate meeting taking place from the 25-30th June 2023 in Lindau, Germany. Ms Ramakgahlela Betty Sebati, a Research Assistant from the SAMRC / University of Johannesburg’s Pan African Centre for Epidemics Research (PACER) Extra Mural Unit was selected as one of the 600 young scientists worldwide to attend the meeting with this year’s focus being dedicated to Physiology and Medicine.
