Mission
Conduct appropriate eHealth research drawing on the principles and practices of Knowledge Management (KM) and Consumer Health Informatics (CHI) to develop innovative solutions that contribute to strengthening of South Africa’s health system.
Objectives
- To translate MRC research into knowledge products
- To conduct CHI and CI research and develop KM models as best practice methodologies for effective knowledge transfer
- To investigate, develop and implement the innovative use of technologies in appropriate eHealth environments
- To strengthen the SA health system through innovative eHealth promoting community projects
- To develop appropriate capacity and niche skills in eHealth
- To form partnerships and collaborations to promote eHealth in the MRC, nationally and internationally
