Who Qualifies for funding
- Established researchers in any field of health research who are residing permanently in another country
- All MRC recognised scientific societies, with an assigned host researcher.
- (New societies are required to submit a constitution)
Period of Funding
Duration of conference and visits to other institutions to a maximum of 3 months.
Value of the Award
Maximum of R20 000
Conditions
- The guest must be an established researcher
- Research area must fall within the framework for MRC health research
- MRC contribution must be acknowledged in the conference proceedings.

Review Process
- Applications are reviewed by the NSRC chaired by RCD Sub-directorate.
- Consensus recommendations are forwarded to EMC for approval.
Closing Date
31 March
Successful applicants are required to:
- Submitt a report to the MRC after attendance at the conference
- Sign an agreement with the MRC to return to the country
