Research Capacity Development
Opportunities for Research Development
Introduction
One of
the key roles of the research development programme is to facilitate the process
of research capacity development at historically disadvantaged institutions
and amongst nurses and allied health professionals. The process of capacity
development is supported by grantsmanship training, research development grants
and grants for technical assistance and staff credentialling. Potential applicants
are invited to contact the Executive Director for Research Development to
discuss their application early in the process.

Grantsmanship
Training
The
MRC provides technical assistance to individuals who are in the process
of applying for an MRC research grant. Potential applicants are advised
to refer to the review document on Writing a Research Grant Proposal on
the home page of this section. This guide document targets individuals with
limited experience at writing such proposals. The programme includes oral
presentations on proposal writing, workshops for reviewing draft proposals
and for proposal development in priority research areas.
