3rd International Society of Computational Biology conference in Cape Town at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from 9 – 11 March 2001

Members of the media are invited to the 3rd International Society of Computational Biology conference in Cape Town at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from 9 – 11 March 2001. The conference follows the Human Genetics conference as scientists in this field work hand in hand with computational biologists or bioinformatics professional who analyses research data via the use of computer programmes designed to come up with scientific formulas.

The organisers of the conference are from UWC (Dr Alan Christoffels, Chairperson of the Scientific Committee on 072 561 6518 ) and UCT (Prof Nicola Mulder, chairperson of the Organising Committee on 082 734 9477).

The International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) and the African Society for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (ASBCB) are holding the ISCB Africa ASBCB Conference on Bioinformatics in Cape Town, South Africa, in March 2011. The meeting constitutes the second joint meeting of ISCB and ASBCB, and the third conference of the ASBCB on Bioinformatics of African Pathogens, Hosts and Vectors.

This conference has a broader Bioinformatics scope than the previous two conferences, but welcomes a special interest in infectious diseases relevant to Africa.
