Media Invitation
RTI International and the Medical Research Council will be hosting an Open house to discuss HIV Prevention in Western Cape
Members of the Media are invited by the South African Medical Research Council (MRC) and RTI International to attend an open house meeting to view and talk to researchers in Parow East, Cape Town on Thursday, 26 August 2010.
RTI in partnership with MRC will be hosting an open house for their new field site that houses two large studies funded by the US National Institutes of Health for community based HIV prevention interventions in the Western Cape.
Dr. Bronwyn Myers from the MRC and Dr. Wendee Wechsberg from the RTI International are the Project Directors. Together with staff members they will be discussing the progress on the Women’s Health Co-operation and the newly established Couples Health Co-op.
Attendees at the event will get to know more about the various studies and will be equipped with skills on how to reduce HIV risks by addressing the role of alcohol and drugs, sexual relationships, gender roles and gender based violence in the country.
