The MRC, together with SASOL,  won the Technology Top 100 award for Excellence in the Management of Research – in the established category.

The Technology Top 100 Awards is a Science & Technology initiative which aims to reward companies that have achieved success through the use of technology, innovation and people.

Organisations were required to send in applications detailing their innovative projects and prove their business was able to meet the challenges of the market through new technologies.
 
Besides the joint award, the MRC was also a finalist in the following categories:

• ‘Excellence in the Management of Innovation’        
• ‘Excellence in the Management of People’
• ‘Excellence in the Management of Systems’

Receiving the awards on behalf of Medical Research Council were Dr Tony Bunn, Dr Michelle Mulder and Mr Saberi Marais.
