African contributors meeting
The South African Cochrane Centre (SACC) that resides within the Medical Research Council is hosting a three-day African Contributors Meeting from 22 - 24 May 2007 at the MRC Conference Centre. The opening of the meeting starts at 09h00 on Tuesday, 22 May 2007.
The meeting brings together African scientists from 25 African countries to discuss scientific reviews, policies and research translation. Some of the objectives of the African contributors meeting will be to:
- review Cochrane activities taking place in various parts of Africa.
- examine current capacity building and dissemination initiatives and find ways of enhancing them.
- strengthen existing collaborations and develop new collaborations with health care consumers, policy makers and clinicians in Africa and around the world.
- lay the ground work for the establishment of an African Cochrane network
- celebrate the achievements and successes of the past 10 years of the SACC’s existence and reflect on the journey ahead.
