Dr Lulu Nair is a clinician by training and has been involved in HIV related clinical trials since 2002. She has experience in all aspects of the conduct of clinical trials, having been involved in all steps of the research process from conception to proposal development, to protocol writing and data collection and analysis. Dr Nair has been involved as a senior research clinician in HIV/TB treatment trials and since 2010 in Microbicide trials as a site PI, IoR or protocol chair. More recently, her focus has been on adolescent HIV prevention research. She is currently the CRS leader at the Desmond Tutu HIV Centre - Emavundleni Clinical Research Site affiliated to the Clinical Trials Unit of the University of Cape Town. She is currently a member of the ethics committee of the South African Medical Research Council and served previously as a committee member of the Biomedical Research Ethics Committee of the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
