  • By the CDC to Research Information Systems (Dr C Seebregts) for provision of software programming services in support of development and implementation of the electronic TB register;
  • By the Health Systems Trust to the HIV Prevention Research Unit (Dr M Colvin) for the PMTCT Cohort: qualitative sub-study;
  • By the HSRC to the HIV Prevention Research Unit (Dr M Colvin) for a study of demands and supply of educators based in public schools and FET colleges;

  • By the Innovation Fund Trust to the Telemedicine Lead Programme (Dr M Molefe) for the electronic interface for the primary health care telemedicine workstation computer;
  • By the Johns Hopkins University to the Chronic Diseases of Lifestyle Research Unit (Dr K Steyn) for the study on barriers to HBP care and control in black South Africans, Year 2;
  • By the Johns Hopkins University (Fogarty International Center) to CDL (Dr K Steyn) the study on barriers to high blood pressure care and control in black South Africans, Year 2;
  • By the Department of Health to the Crime, Violence and Injury Lead Programme (Dr S Marais) for a feasibility study on the possibility of introducing brief interventions to reducing alcohol consumption during pregnancy to women attending selected primary health care facilities in the Western Cape;

  • By SA Bioproducts to the HIV Prevention Research Unit (Dr M Colvin) to determine the prevalence of HIV infection in the SA Bioproducts workforce;
  • By Family Health International to the HIV Prevention Research Unit (Dr M Colvin) for South Africa: impact of syndromic treatment packets on quality of care;
  • By the SA Sugar Association to NIRU (Dr M Faber) for Project 185: the seasonality of the availability of beta-carotene-rich vegetables in the diets of 2-5-year-old children in a rural setting that produces beta-carotene-rich vegetables at household level;
