Project Leader
Health Systems Research Unit
Cape Town
3 Year Contract
The Health Systems Research Unit, which focuses on research for the effectiveness of health care, currently requires a Project Leader: Support Services to coordinate large national PMTCT surveys in 2010, 2011 and 2012. The work responsibilities will involve coordinating the operations of large national surveys relating to PMTCT or maternal and child health, overseeing and managing field workers (data collectors) and data collector supervisors, overseeing the arrangement of accommodation, travel and S&T for data collectors/supervisors, overseeing the budget for the surveys, liaising with National and Provincial Department of Health staff, liaising with funders and other stakeholders, conflict resolution within the team, as needed and report writing.
Minimum requirements:
- 3 year Degree or 3 year National Diploma in Project Management or Business Administration plus at least 5 years administrative experience of which 3 years must be experience in a coordinating position. A relevant higher diploma or other post graduate professional registration will be a strong recommendation.
- strong administrative skills
- proficiency in MS Office packages (Word, PowerPoint , Outlook, Project l and basic internet)
- experience in basic report writing and financial auditing
- excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- the ability to work under pressure. Previous experience in a research organisation will be highly advantageous.
A cost-to-company remuneration package in the region of R245 985 - R264 434 per annum will be negotiated in accordance with qualifications and experience.
