Research Assistant to PI

HIV Prevention Research Unit
Durban
2 Year Contract

This position entails responsibility for:

  • Literature searches on the internet and coordination of a reference database.
  • Assist with the preparation of documents for ethics and MCC applications and regulatory progress reports.
  • Creating regulatory documentation and maintaining filing systems for research studies according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards
  • Provide administrative support  (filing, general typing, taking and typing of minutes, creating presentations, reports)
  • Diary Management
  • Planning/Coordinating meetings, workshops and trainings for both unit and research projects (catering, booking of venues, etc)
  • General office and research duties

Requirements:

  • Basic degree or equivalent diploma with two years experience in a research or related environment
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet)
  • Experience with DAIDS policies and requirements
A salary in the region of R110 124 - R139 275 per annum, cost-to-company will be negotiated in compliance with experience/qualifications.
