REVISED TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION COLLABORATING CENTRE FOR URBAN HEALTH
- to facilitate, undertake and participate in the design and conduct of research on health and environment determinants, and their management in human settlements;
- to collaborate with WHO, WHO Environmental Health Centres and WHO Collaborating Centres in the fields of urban and environmental health;
- to collaborate with WHO in the development of urban and environmental health policy, programmes and projects in the African region, particularly within southern Africa;
- to enter into mutually beneficial partnerships with member states in the WHO African region in the fields of urban and environmental health;
- to collaborate with the WHO in the development of capacity in the fields of urban and environmental health in Africa;
- to contribute to improved urban health through support and promotion of health and people centred models for urban planning and development, such as the WHO Healthy Cities initiative.
