Urban Health Research Translation in Johannesburg: Launch of new Public Health Services, 28 April 2010
Celebrating Environmental Health Research Translation
On 28 April 2010 the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Urban Health (which is a partnership of the Medical Research Council, the University of Johannesburg, the University of the Witwatersrand and the City of Johannesburg) hosted the celebration of the translation of findings from the HEAD study into programmes and projects of community benefit:
- The establishment of a new vision screening clinic
- The establishment of a new podiatry clinic
- The launch of a community environmental health education programme;
- The implementation of a hookah pipe smoking cessation campaign.
