Invitation to join the SAMRC-MeDDIC program for a FREE webinar in celebration of the 2024 World Intellectual Property (IP) Day. This year marks the 23rd celebration of World IP day, under the theme “IP and SDGs: Building our common future with innovation and creativity” and is an opportunity for us together with our guest speaker Mr. Zulfaqar Dudhia, to explore how IP can amplify innovative and creative solutions and how IP can be incorporated from ideation or research proposal stage to build sustainable inventions/solutions towards achieving the 17 interconnecting SDGs.

SpeakerSpeaker Biography

Mr. Zulfaqar Dudhia thoroughly enjoys his career as an African Intellectual Property Specialist. He received his Undergraduate degree from Otago University (New Zealand) and Postgraduate degrees from Stellenbosch University (South Africa), before starting off doing Patent Articles and Board Examinations while working at an IP Law Firm. Thereafter, Mr Dudhia worked at three South African University Technology Transfer Offices, instrumental in commercial aspects of IP, prior to representing Thomson Reuters as their IP Specialist in Africa. His experience and network are vast, across both Public and Private sectors through Sub-Saharan Africa, and beyond. Mr. Dudhia is also a published medical scientist and inventor, with several media appearances. He regularly presents on IP matters as an international expert focused on African Innovation.
