On behalf of the University of Limpopo (Medunsa Campus) and the Medical Research Council, South Africa, it is my pleasure and privilege to invite you to participate in the 27^th AHSC to be held in the beautiful South African city of Durban, rich in historic culture, and is home to a large variety of natural wonders, ultra-modern facilities, fascinating glimpses of some three millions multi- cultured people.

The HI Elangeni hotel is the venue for this unique event which is organised each year under the auspices of the AFHS (African Forum for Health Sciences), a non-governmental organisation registered in Nairobi (Kenya).

This 27^th AHSC will be co-hosted by the University of Limpopo (Medunsa Campus) and the Medical Research Council South Africa.

This is the second time that this congress will be hosted in South Africa. The focus of the two previous congresses (25^th and 26^th AHSC) was respectively on partnership and research for better health and development in Africa, and health challenges in Africa.
