Cancer Epidemiology Research Unit
Research highlights
The Cancer Epidemiology Research Unit (CERU) was instrumental in having the smoking status of the deceased placed on Death Notification Forms in 1998. This allows smoking related causes of death to be tracked, thus monitoring smoking behaviour over time and after implementation of Tobacco Control Legislation.
The CERG has also been part of the large International Collaboration of Epidemiological Studies of Cervical Cancer and is now part of InterSCOPE (The International Collaboration on Squamous Cell Cancer of the Oesophagus). |
