Prof Alan Flisher (1957-2010)
On the 19 April 2010 we heard the sad news of the untimely death of Prof Alan Flisher. Alan was an Associate Staff Member of ADARU and a close colleague of many of us. Among other things he was supervising Andreas, Tara and Amina (another associate staff member) in their PhD studies. Alan had been receiving treatment for leukaemia for some time and had been doing well until just over a month ago. He was a good friend to ADARU and attended our strategic planning meetings on occasion and has also published extensively with several of us over the past years. He was a superb academic and a really nice human being who will be deeply missed. Hamba Kahle, Alan |
