Workshops

GRADE and Summary of Findings workshop

You are invited to attend a two and a half day GRADE and Summary of Findings workshop hosted by the South African Cochrane Centre (SACC) in Cape Town from 4 to 6 June 2012.

What does the course offer?
After completion of the workshop, participants should be able to:

  1. Discuss the rationale for using the GRADE approach for rating the quality of evidence and strength of recommendations
  2. Assess the quality of evidence using the GRADE approach
  3. Generate Summary of Findings Tables using GRADEpro software

Who should attend?
The workshop is open to Cochrane review authors from the SACC reference countries*. Preference will be given to those who have successfully completed a Cochrane Review. The course will facilitate a maximum of 20 participants.

*Benin, Botswana, Cameroun, Comoros, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana,  Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique,  Namibia,Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Swaziland,  Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe

Part sponsorship will be available for a limited number of attendees both from within and outside of South Africa.

The closing date for registration is 25 April 2012 for applicants for reference countries outside South Africa and 18 May 2012 for applicants from South Africa.
